This highly elegant Mercedes-Benz 190SL Roadster was delivered in April 1959 to the general agent of Daimler-Benz, Joseph F. Weckerle, in Morocco, which had meanwhile become independent. He was a big fan of this elegant roadster series and liked to sell it to the wealthy upper class to which he maintained excellent contacts. He himself had already won the "Casablanca Grand Prix" in 1956 in a Mercedes-Benz 190SL touring sports car and had thus made a good name for himself. As a result, the roadster found its way to the USA. There it was very popular and was regarded as one of the most elegant vehicles of the 1950s and early 1960s. In 2011, the 190SL returned to its native country, Germany. A Mercedes specialist near the Swabian capital Stuttgart had acquired it. He subjected the 190SL Roadster to a detailed full restoration. The result of Swabian craftsmanship was fantastic. Everything presented itself as new. The colour scheme in the original Mercedes-Benz colour, DB 172 "anthracite grey metallic" in combination with dark red leather, made the 190SL look like its big brother the 300SL. A uniquely beautiful charisma. A prominent Swabian soon succumbed to the charm of this roadster and still owned the car today. Let yourself be captivated by the charm of this roadster, too, and soon start wonderful trips with the roof open and enjoy the friendly waving of many a participant in the traffic.
