On April 25, 1955, this 300SL Coupé was completed in the factory and delivered to the USA. He remained until December 1994 in the USA. He was admitted in Oklahoma in 1989 and belonged to Mr. Claus H. Mees in sunny California. He lived in the tranquil town of Woodside, a village of about 5,000 inhabitants in Santa Clara Valley, 18 km south of San Francisco and 22 km north of San Jose. The car received a comprehensive restoration at Scott Grundfor, one of the most renowned 300SL specialists in California. In December 1994 a lover of classic Mercedes-Benz cars from Japan bought the elegant coupé and kept it for the next 23 years. The car presents itself in one-time beauty. At the first start the engine runs smoothly , the transmission switches well, the entire driving feeling imparts solidity and the best care condition. The numbers of engine, transmission, rear axle and various secondary numbers show that it is one of the coveted matching numbers vehicles.
