They drove the roadster until the end of 1992 and sold it with about 20,000 miles to a friendly couple also in Glendora / California / USA. There the car remained for the next 22 years. In 2014, a German dealer specialized in Mercedes-Benz R 107 models bought the car from the couple in Glendora. He took the 560 SL with only 53,228 miles to northern Germany. The appearance was adapted to the German buyer's wishes, the unloved rear spoiler and the thick 3rd brake light were removed.
