This Mercedes-Benz 280SE 3.5 Flachkühler Cabriolet was completed at the factory on October 09, 1970 and shipped to its destination in California/USA. The equipment corresponded to the full equipment at that time with original BEHR air conditioning, electric windows, thick noble leather interior with comfortable armrests front and rear and a radio from Becker. Even a limited slip differential for the rear axle was installed. The car remained in California until the early 1990s, when it was sold to Dallas, Texas, with just 10,310 miles on the clock. A Texas entrepreneur had fallen in love with the car and bought it outright. He kept it until he had to turn it in for health reasons in 2001.
A German-born Mercedes enthusiast acquired the convertible and used it when he could find the time. He had the car serviced and maintained regularly, as can be seen from numerous old invoices. In 2011, he took the convertible with him to Germany as part of a move and had the car overhauled where necessary by German specialists in 2012 and 2013. In the course of this, the bodywork, paint and technology were overhauled and renewed, and a new soft top was installed. In 2016 he had the wood trim and leather renewed in great quality, which is in no way inferior to the original. In 2017 he sold the convertible to a classic car collection, from which we were able to acquire the V8 convertible thanks to a collection conversion. Even if the vehicle presented itself in an excellent general condition, the Fahrzueg was once again extensively revised and perfected in our manufactory. The result speaks for itself. Experience it yourself.
