This Mercedes-Benz 280SL Roadster in sporty elegant silver-blue from the so popular R107 series was registered to its first owner in the Swabian Bodelshausen near Tübingen at the end of December 1983. After the Mercedes R 107 were highly sought after on the market and young cars could be sold again almost at the original price, the first owner sold the car to a friend within his small hometown in 1986. In 1989 the 280SL found a new home in Lower Franconia. There it stayed for the next 21 years before it came to the wonderful Chiemgau. Its owner there kept the roadster for another 3 years, before a customer of our house discovered it on a holiday trip at the Chiemsee. He bought the chic 280 SL spontaneously and kept it until he gave it to our house in 2018 in exchange for another oldie. The car was well maintained all these years, whenever there was a need, a garage was immediately visited. So the condition can be described as fantastically solid and well maintained. The brake system, the fabric roof and the rear silencer have been renewed, the underbody has already been sealed with transparent wax and a complete inspection was carried out in our workshop.
